The purpose of yoga is to stop suffering even before it arises!

The purpose of yoga is to stop suffering even before it arises!
 -Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

The experiencer in you who experiences pain, pleasure, happiness, sadness and everything, that consciousness is what 'Brahman' is!

Often one looks for contentment through pleasure. True contentment can only come through service.

Pleasure keeps you on the run; first towards the object and then away from it. Yoga and dispassion keep you centered.

When you enjoy and get the taste of inner pleasure then outer pleasure loses it’s charm.

Passion for transformation and dispassion for momentary pleasure can make you a profound and strong person.

Love with selfishness, love for individual pleasure sooner or later will bring misery and heartbreak.

Spirituality is about uplifting the energy and pleasure depletes energy and leads you to inertia.

Prayer is asking God, “God, give me this” or saying, “Thank you God for giving me this. God you gave me water. I thank you. You have given me food. I thank you. You gave me pleasure, joy and happiness. I thank you.” In prayer you are either thanking God or asking something from Him.

Every pleasure leaves you exactly where you are. It doesn’t lead you anywhere. Pleasure only makes you tired.

If you have gone through a break-up which was intensely painful, that is because the pleasure in the relationship had been equally intense. It is craving that made it so painful, leaving you in the present moment with only a bag of emotions.

The mind is the reason for the bondage, and mind is the reason for liberation. If your mind is happy, doing anything gives you pleasure. But if your mind is upset and heavy, then nothing seems to create an interest.

People who follow pleasure alone get ruined, but people who follow commitment in life, those who do service towards others, will surely shine out.

We want to be more happy, more joyful, and we think that we can find it in those things (here meaning from sensory pleasures) but it really isn’t so. We need to go into the source of joy, source of happiness and that can come only from within.

Find out what you think love is. Is love only a name for getting you pleasure from others? If yes, then it is going to bring you pain. But if your love is there only to care and you cannot be without it, then that is your true nature. That is what is true love.

Love with wisdom is eternal bliss. Love with selfishness or love for individual pleasure, sooner or later will bring misery and heart break. If your love is there to help others, nobody can destroy it, but if your love is to get something from the other, sooner or later, it will be broken into pieces.

Negative actions give you suffering, and it vanishes after sometime. Positive actions give you some pleasure. After some time, that vanishes. Any action, and its fruit, vanishes. It can never stay all the time
