3 things obscure our being: 1. The ego 2. Desires 3. The intellect So freeze these things for a little while and then see how meditation happens. Even just this intention, “I want to freeze these three things”, immediately makes a difference.
Your desire is like a Sesame Seed - just drop them. Let your ego be small like sesame seed and words sweet like jaggery.
Yoga is a study of life, study of your body, breath, mind, intellect, memory, and ego; study of your inner faculties.
If you find that you have an ego, just let it be there. Don't try to erase it. The antidote for ego is to be natural.
Total dedication brings enormous enthusiasm, zeal, trust and challenge and does not leave any room for ego.
What throws you off your balance is your ego. Ego is the reason many things are broken and many things are made. If you pump someone's ego, they can do some good work, and if you smash someone's ego they can break other things also. Ego can create havoc.
If you go to the Master and say, "That person is blaming me", then he would say, "Good, let them blame you more". I also do this. Suppose someone says, "This person is troubling me", I say, "I will ask them to trouble you even more". Why? That is how you get rid of your ego.
When people point at you, just relax. Smile and accept it. Ego is just a feeling of having a wall between you and others. There is no wall. You belong to me and I belong to you.
The more you grow in knowledge, you see that ego goes away. You know, around the seed there is a membrane. When you soak it in water, the seed bulges, sprouts and automatically the membrane breaks away. But if you try to peel the skin, the seed itself will break. Same way, when you soak yourself in knowledge, in devotion, in love, and in wisdom, you automatically find the ego going away.
If you find that there is ego, then let it be. Even ego belongs to the divine. Don’t try to surrender, don’t struggle. If you say that I have surrendered my ego, then it is bigger ego. It’s like saying, "I am the most humble person in this entire world!" That doesn’t show humility. Just be natural.
Do not recognize that others have a big ego. Your recognition gives power to the ego. So do not recognize it. Just be natural. The antidote for ego is naturalness and a sense of belongingness, having a sense of oneness with others.
If you recognize the ego of others, it will get into you, and you will walk like a mouse. Walk like a lion, and be happy. Don’t frown, or roar like a lion, just smile and feel like a lion inside.
