Quote for the Moment

Knowledge (Wisdom) is the filter that can keep all the garbage out.

Knowledge (Wisdom) is the filter that can keep all the garbage out.
 -Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Joy is rejoicing what is, and sorrow is craving for what isn’t.

Moksha is when you find a deep relief in life, from miseries, sorrows, cravings and aversions.

Sorrow needs to be lived through and gotten rid of. It should not be suppressed.

The way to expand from individual to universal consciousness is to share others's sorrow and joy. As you grow, your consciousness should also grow. When you expand in Knowledge with time, then depression is not possible. Your inner most source is joy.

This is what knowledge does, it cleanses our mind from all this; cravings, aversions, sorrows and regrets are taken away and you feel alive and fresh again.

If you act towards others with an intention to gain something from them, then you will have to face sorrow and pain.

You should love your friends and relatives but do not demand anything from them, or get attached to them. You should serve them in whatever way possible. When you set out with a sincere intention to serve then you will never face any misery or sorrow.

Whether you experience happiness or sorrow in life, treat both as equal, because happiness bring expansion and sorrow brings depth, and both make you stronger. And the way to go beyond both of these is meditation.

I have only two things to tell you. One is that there is no misery in life. Wake up and see. There is no sorrow, no problem. If that doesn't work, the second is, give your problems to me.

A violence free society, a disease free body, a confusion free mind, an inhibition free intellect, a trauma free memory, and a sorrow free soul. Let us all work towards making it a reality, and that is what Art of Living is committed to doing.
