Meditation changes the structure of the brain, it gives you intuitive ability, inner comfort and relaxation. It helps the brain to recuperate itself. Meditation and silence have physiological, psychological and spiritual benefits.
When you are losing motivation that is a sign that you are tired, you need recuperation. So for one, two or three days go into retreat. Some silence, meditation, yoga, pranayama and a liquid diet will help.
When your meditation matures it transforms into a state where a depth of silence and peace continues to exist even in activity. It is not a practice, it is a by-product.
